Life Experience
Early Years
Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, I attended UBC, and worked as Care Staff in Browndale, a private residential Treatment Center on Salt Spring Island for "disturbed" teens.
At age 22 I went on a one month work holiday in the Swiss Alps. Unexpectedly, it morphed into a 4 year backpacking odyssey with a friend across South East Asia in the early '70s, when there were no travel books, internet shops or cellphones. Postcards took a month to arrive home. We lived on $5./day including food, transportation and accommodation.

It became an amazing series of extraordinary exotic adventures into the unknown ... an endless parade of mind and soul challenging and expanding experiences.
We traveled overland, village to village on local buses and trains, from Greece to Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Persia, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hawaii.
And finally home again to Canada, changed forever!
In the early 80s I attended Alberta College of Art and Design. In the mid 90s I graduated from Emily Carr College of Art and Design.
Shortly after, I founded and directed a non-profit Fine Arts Studio in Vancouver called Eureka, created for adult artists with multiple severe disabilities, most of whom had lived their whole lives in residential care.
As aspiring artists, they experienced themselves as purposeful whole beings with unique talents, often for the first time ever. Their lives became rich with potential and possibilities.

Critical to its success were the many volunteer professional artists and engineers, who supported the participants and created adapted tools and equipment as needed. We all benefited, beyond words!
Later years
In the late 90s, in my late 50s, I resumed traveling, back to Asia, this time on my own.
I spent 16 years in Thailand. The first 9 years I lived a simple uncomplicated life in a small bungalow right on the beach, on Koh Samui, a small southern island. No hot water, sporadic electricity, single burner cooking, no phones or TV, no AC.
Endless sun with sandy beaches as far as the eye could see. Idyllic!
I then moved to the north, to Chiangmai city (2nd largest city after Bangkok) for my final 7 years.
In both places I lived for many years in or next to the jungle and learned how to be comfortable sharing accommodations with poisonous snakes, millipedes, scorpions and other local habitat.
While in Chiangmai I co-develped an English language program for young monks in local temples. And co-created a program to help financially support a local Lanna Herbalist in his goal to provide free traditional remedy treatment for AIDS patients.

With local support, I also created a travel tour inviting healers from the West to visit with and learn from northern Golden Triangle traditional Hilltribe healers who graciously shared their somewhat primative homes and Shamanic ways of life, rituals, remedies and medicinal therapies.
On the left: MAE tribe Shaman. On the right: AKHA tribe Mor Kwan (Soul Retriever who rescues lost & stolen souls, believed to be the cause of all illness).

While in Asia I also traveled extensively to nearby India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, China and Hong Kong exploring new cultures, indulging a growing interest in healing and personal spirituality. During this time I trained in Biodynamic CranioSacral Balancing and studied various other holistic modalities.
In Chiangmai I co-created a Healing Center called Healing Light. And made regular trips by invitation to Hong Kong, where I provided healing for a private group of children with special needs and their families. Life was wonderful...!
in 2012 I returned to Canada to be with my family ... and thus began this current phase of my life, on Vancouver Island, as Grammy to my exceptional grandson who lives with autism.
Healing Modalities
Over the past 25 years I have received trainings in Biodynamic CranioSacral Balancing, EFT, Reiki, Quantum Touch, Breath and Visualization techniques, and Eden Energy Medicine.
I qualified as a registered CranioSacral Biodynamics Therapist (BCST) in 2005 and in 2016 I qualified as an Eden Energy Medicine (EEM) practitioner.
In 2012 when I returned to Canada I discovered Donna Eden and her extraordinary Energy Medicine training called Eden Method.
My healing sessions are now a smorgasbord of various healing modalities, depending on what is needed by the individual person or animal with whom I am working, in the moment.
Internationally, I have facilitated individual and group Energy Healing sessions and Healing Art workshops for people of all ages and abilities, in various different cultures, communities and countries.
I first started visiting ashrams in India in 1985. This passion for presence, awareness and self-healing continues to this day.
I particularly enjoy working with beloved house pets, horses and all other animals (domesticated and wild).

“For a number of years I volunteered with healing sessions for street dogs in a local Care for Dogs Rescue center in Chiangmai, Thailand.
I found my dear companion dog Hannah in this center. She was one of 60 abandoned street dogs in various states of ill-health.
Six months earlier she had been hit by a car and left for dead in the street. I chose her because she was so happy and full of joy.
When she came home with me, she had only 2 front legs with which to get around. Her spine was severely curved and contracted. One back leg was a stump, cut off below her hip bone, and the other was withered, dragging behind her like a wet noodle. Within a week after daily 30 minute treatments, her spine uncurled, straightening and decompressing.
After a year of weekly sessions, the muscles in her withered back limb began to strengthen to the point where she could stand on that leg. Such is the body's capacity for healing itself!
Unfortunately, she wasn't able to figure out how to walk upright on 3 legs ... too much time had passed.
I had a cart custom made so she could scoot around upright (seen in photo).
We lived in the jungle and she and her cart regularly toppled over. Ultimately, she decided it was safer and easier to use only her 2 front legs to get around while dragging her rear end ... and she was remarkably fast.
Although she was incontinent and had to receive daily hind leg stump duct tape bandaging, Hannah experienced immense joy in her life ... and she shared it generously with everyone around her. She lived with me for 5 years before life became too difficult for her.
She taught me that happiness is a choice. ”
